Propranolol is a medication classified as a beta-blocker, which affects the heart, circulation, and various other parts of the body. It is utilised for a range of conditions, including hypertension (high blood pressure), angina pectoris (chest pain), and certain arrhythmias (disorders of heart rhythm). Additionally, Propranolol is used for protecting the heart after a myocardial infarction (heart attack), preventing migraines, treating essential tremor, managing anxiety, and addressing specific thyroid conditions such as thyrotoxicosis caused by an overactive thyroid gland. It is also effective for treating hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (thickened heart muscle), phaeochromocytoma (a tumour near the kidney causing high blood pressure), and bleeding in the oesophagus or stomach resulting from high blood pressure in the liver.

Do not take Propranolol tablets and inform your doctor if you are allergic to Propranolol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Additionally, avoid taking Propranolol if you have untreated or uncontrolled heart failure, are in shock caused by heart problems, suffer from heart conduction or rhythm problems (such as second or third-degree heart block or sick sinus syndrome), have a slow heart rate, or have low blood pressure.
