Piriteze Allergy Relief Syrup
To administer Piriteze Children’s Hayfever & Allergy Syrup, follow these guidelines: Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over should take two 5ml spoonfuls once daily. Children aged 6 to 12 years should receive one 5ml spoonful twice daily, morning and evening. For children aged 2 to 6 years, administer half a spoonful (2.5ml) twice daily, also morning and evening. This syrup is not recommended for children under 2 years old. For individuals with moderate kidney problems, the recommended dosage is one 5ml spoonful once daily. It’s crucial not to exceed the recommended dose and to avoid administering to children under 2 years old. In the event of accidental overdose, contact a doctor or casualty department immediately. The Piriteze Children’s Hayfever & Allergy Syrup contains Cetirizine Hydrochloride 5mg in each 5ml dose. Additionally, it includes glycerol, propylene glycol, sorbitol (E 420), methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), propylparahydroxybenzoate (E 216), sodium acetate, acetic acid, saccharin sodium, banana flavour, and purified water as other ingredients. Please note that methyl and propylparahydroxybenzoates (E 218 and E 216) have the potential to cause allergic reactions, which might occur with a delayed onset.
Like all medicines, Piriteze Children’s Hayfever & Allergy Syrup can potentially cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them. If you encounter sudden signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash development, swelling of the mouth or face, or difficulty breathing, cease use immediately and seek urgent medical assistance. Additionally, discontinue use and consult your doctor if you observe symptoms like confusion, hallucinations, abnormal liver function test results, or rapid heartbeat. Common side effects, which may affect up to 1 in 10 individuals, include headache, dizziness, drowsiness, tiredness, restlessness, dry mouth, sore throat, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, and runny nose. Uncommonly, affecting up to 1 in 100 people, side effects such as agitation, weakness, malaise, pins and needles sensation, itching, rash, or hives may occur.
