About Norgeston

Every day, at the same time, take one pill. Take the packs one after the other, without stopping, even if you’re on your period.

It is critical to take the pill at the same time every day. You will not have contraceptive protection if you are more than 3 hours late.

Norgeston is a progestogen-only miniature pill. Levonorgestrel, the active ingredient, alters the environment in your womb. This makes it more difficult for sperm to reach an egg during ovulation and changes the womb lining, preventing a fertilized egg from developing. Norgeston is a highly effective contraceptive.

Norgeston, when used correctly, can prevent pregnancy by up to 99 percent. You may not be protected against pregnancy if you are vomiting or have severe diarrhoea. Continue to take the pill as usual if this happens, but use a condom while you’re sick. If this lasts longer than 24 hours, you should take the same steps as if you missed a pill.

If you miss it by more than 3 hours, you will lose your contraceptive protection.

Norgeston has no known side effects in the majority of women. However, side effects such as headaches, nausea, tummy pain, breast discomfort, acne, and mood swings are possible.

See the patient information leaflet for a complete list of side effects and how to use it correctly. If you have any concerns about side effects, please contact us through your Patient Record.

As soon as you remember, take the forgotten pill. Then, at the regular time, take the next pill. It’s possible that you’ll have to take two pills in one day.

You will not be protected against pregnancy if you do not take it within 3 hours of the usual time. Continue to take your pills as usual, but for the next two days, use a condom. You may need emergency contraception if you had unprotected sex during this time.
