Dalacin Cream

It’s important to strictly adhere to the instructions provided by your doctor or pharmacist when using this medication. If you’re uncertain about the dosage or application method, consult with your healthcare provider or pharmacist for clarification. Typically, the recommended dose is one full applicator (approximately 5 grams) inserted into the vagina each night at bedtime for seven consecutive nights. However, depending on your symptoms and the recommendation of your doctor, a shorter three-day course of treatment may be prescribed. Very common side effects, affecting more than 1 in every 10 patients, include vaginal thrush, characterized by soreness and itching around the vulva and vagina. Common side effects, affecting less than 1 in every 10 patients, encompass a range of symptoms such as fungal infection (candida) leading to red, itchy rashes, headaches, dizziness, changes in sense of taste, cough, cold, sore throat, stomach-ache, difficulty, or delayed bowel movements, diarrhoea, and feelings of nausea. If you experience any of these side effects while using this medication, consult your doctor or pharmacist for further guidance.

If you are pregnant, suspect you might be pregnant, or are considering pregnancy, it’s important to seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist before using Dalacin topical lotion. Similarly, if you plan to breastfeed while using this medication, inform your doctor, as the active ingredient in Dalacin Cream may pass into breast milk. Your healthcare provider will assess whether Dalacin Cream is appropriate for you during breastfeeding.

Before using Dalacin Cream, it’s essential to consider certain factors to ensure safe and effective usage. Avoid using this medication if you have a known allergy to clindamycin, lincomycin, or any other ingredients listed in section 6 of the product Information Leaflet. Additionally, if you have a history of inflammatory bowel disease or antibiotic-associated colitis, consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting treatment. If you experience diarrhoea or tend to develop it while taking antibiotics, inform your healthcare provider before using Dalacin Cream. Severe, prolonged, or bloody diarrhoea during or after treatment could indicate a serious condition such as bowel inflammation (pseudomembranous colitis), requiring immediate medical attention. It’s advisable to abstain from sexual intercourse during Dalacin Creamtreatment, as it may weaken condoms and diaphragms, reducing their effectiveness as contraceptive methods. Refrain from using other vaginal products like tampons or douches while using the cream, Dalacin lotion is not recommended for use in children.
