How to insert Canesten pessary and cream:

utilise the applicator to insert it as deeply as feasible into the vagina, ideally before bedtime for ease and comfort during treatment. Prior to handling the applicator and foil blister pack, ensure your hands are washed thoroughly, both before and after use. Begin by extracting the applicator from its packaging and pulling out the plunger, identified by its red lock.

Position the pessary, removed from the foil blister pack, into the open end of the applicator, ensuring the curved edge faces downward. Engage the plunger into the applicator until a distinct click is felt, then remove the lock from the plunger. Insert the applicator carefully into the vagina, up to the patterned grip zone, while lying on your back with knees bent, pushing the plunger until it halts to dispense the vaginal pessary.

Following administration, discard the applicator in a secure location out of children’s reach, as it cannot be flushed down the toilet. As the Canesten cream pessary dissolves, wearing a panty liner may be advisable to manage any discharge. While a white chalky residue post-application is normal and does not indicate treatment failure, if any undissolved pieces are observed, consulting with a doctor or pharmacist is recommended as the treatment may not have been effective.
