Priligy is a treatment for premature ejaculation (PE) that is effective in 80% of men. If you take one tablet 1-3 hours before sex, it can triple the amount of time it takes to ejaculate.

The active ingredient in Priligy is dapoxetine, which is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). It works by increasing serotonin levels in the body, causing a delayed reaction in the areas of the brain responsible for ejaculation. This means that reaching orgasm takes longer.
Nausea, dizziness, headache, fainting, and diarrhoea are the most common side effects. If you feel dizzy or faint after taking Priligy, do not drive, operate heavy machinery, or engage in risky activities.

Priligy is most effective within 1-3 hours of taking it, but it can sometimes last up to 12 hours.
Priligy is effective in approximately 8 out of 10 men. These men should notice a doubling or tripling of their erection duration prior to ejaculation. Priligy is not a cure and will only be effective if you take it.
Priligy is only approved for use in men aged 18 to 64 who have had PE for at least six months. This refers to men who ejaculate within two minutes of penetration. It should not be taken by men who have heart disease, blood clotting problems, a tendency to faint, or who are taking certain medications. This is due to the possibility of more serious side effects.
Priligy, like any other medication, can interact with others. Priligy should not be combined with antidepressants, blood thinners, medications for kidney or liver conditions, or by people who are prone to dehydration.
There are other medications that interact with Priligy. This is why it’s critical that you tell us about any prescription, over-the-counter, or recreational drugs you’re taking so that we can safely prescribe Priligy.
Consuming alcohol while taking Priligy can aggravate some side effects and impair the effectiveness of the treatment.
Priligy (dapoxetine) is a treatment, not a cure. Because of the complexities of why premature ejaculation occurs, Priligy cannot treat the underlying causes of PE. It is most effective when used in conjunction with behavioral techniques and, in some cases, counselling or psychotherapy.
Counselling or hypnotherapy may be beneficial to some men in exploring and treating psychological causes of PE. Others successfully manage their PE by employing behavioral techniques.
We can also prescribe EMLA, an anaesthetic cream that is applied to the penis.
It reduces the sensitivity of nerve endings and can lengthen the time it takes to ejaculate.
