It’s imperative to adhere strictly to the instructions provided in the PIL or as advised by your doctor or pharmacist. If uncertain, consult with them for clarification. To pierce the tube, remove the cap and reverse it over the nozzle, then push firmly and turn. Apply the cream to clean, dry, and cool skin, avoiding hot baths or showers immediately before treatment. Apply a thin layer of cream to the skin as directed.

For treating scabies,  adults and adolescents over 12 years should apply up to 30g of cream (corresponding to one tube of 30g), with a repeat application 7-14 days after the first treatment. Children aged 6-12 years should apply up to 15g of cream (corresponding to half a tube of 30g), with a similar repeat application timeline. Children aged 2 months to 5 years should apply up to 7.5g of cream (corresponding to a quarter tube of 30g), with the same repeat application period. For newborns and infants under 2 months, limited data is available, and dosage should be determined under medical supervision.

Regarding crab lice treatment, adults over 18 years of age should apply up to 30g of cream. Ensure the cream is only used for cutaneous purposes and avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, or open wounds. For scabies treatment, apply the cream to the entire body, sparing the head and face unless affected, and ensure thorough application between fingers and toes, wrists, elbows, armpits, external genitalia, and buttocks. For children under 2 years of age, apply uniformly to the entire body, including palms, soles, neck, face, ears, and scalp, sparing areas around the mouth and eyes. Elderly patients should follow adult instructions, with additional treatment on the face, ears, and scalp.

For crab lice treatment in adults, facial hair and eyelashes should be checked for lice and eggs, with cream application accordingly. Leave the cream on the skin for at least eight hours for scabies and 24 hours for crab lice, then wash off with soap and water. A single application is generally sufficient, but, if necessary, treatment may be repeated after 7 days. If excess cream is applied or accidentally ingested, seek medical advice immediately. If a dose is missed, do not double the quantity. Always follow these instructions meticulously to ensure safe and effective usage.

Like all medicines, Lyclear Dermal Cream can potentially cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them. If severe hypersensitivity reactions occur, it’s crucial to consult a doctor immediately and discontinue use of the cream. Common side effects, which may affect up to 1 in 10 people, include itching (pruritus), reddening of the skin, or unusual sensations such as tingling, pricking, or a burning sensation. Dry skin is also a common occurrence, although it may be exacerbated by the condition being treated. Moisturizers and oil baths are recommended as follow-up treatments for dry skin. In some cases, itching and a skin rash (post-scabies eczema) may persist for up to four weeks after the end of treatment, attributed to a reaction to the killed scabies mites. If symptoms persist, it’s advisable to consult a doctor before reapplying the cream. Rare side effects, affecting up to 1 in 1,000 people, may include headaches. Very rare side effects, affecting up to 1 in 10,000 people, may involve skin lesions (excoriations), inflammation of hair follicles (folliculitis), and reduced skin pigmentation. Some sensitive or allergic individuals have reported breathing difficulties when substances from the pyrethrin group are used. The frequency of certain reactions is not known due to limited data availability. Intolerability reactions may manifest on the skin as itching, reddening, blisters, or hives, potentially spreading beyond the treated area. Nausea may occur, but vomiting has not been reported specifically with Lyclear Dermal Cream, although it is known in connection with other permethrin-containing drugs. If you experience any side effects, it’s essential to report them to your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse for further evaluation and management.

It’s important to refrain from using Lyclear Cream under certain conditions. If you have an allergy to permethrin or any other ingredients listed in section 6 of the medication, its usage should be avoided. Before utilising Lyclear, it’s advised to consult with your doctor or pharmacist, especially if you’re treating infants, as outlined in the “Children up to 23 months of age” section in the PIL . Additionally, if you’re known to be allergic to chrysanthemums or other Compositae, it’s crucial to seek medical advice before using this cream. Smoking or being near naked flames while using Lyclear Dermal Cream poses a risk of severe burns, as fabric that meets the product is highly flammable. Although washing clothing and bedding may reduce product build-up, it may not completely remove it. This medicine is intended for cutaneous use only and should not be ingested. Avoiding contact with the eyes, mucous membranes, and open wounds is imperative, as Lyclear scabies cream may exacerbate symptoms of asthma or eczema. Carers who apply permethrin are advised to wear gloves for protection. Furthermore, for newborns and infants under 2 months of age, Lyclear for scabies should not be used unless specifically directed by a doctor due to limited experience in this age group. Treatment for children up to 23 months of age should only be administered under close medical supervision.

Inform your doctor or pharmacist about any other medications you are currently using, have recently used, or plan to use. It is advised to avoid using corticosteroids (steroids) for treating skin conditions such as eczema while using Lyclear Dermal Cream, as they may exacerbate the infestation of scabies and lice by disrupting the body’s natural defence mechanisms against these parasites.
