Lymecycline and Benzoyl Peroxide Gel

Take Lymecycline with water first thing in the morning.

After washing the affected area with a mild cleanser, apply a thin layer of Benzoyl Peroxide gel (generic Acnecide). It can be used once or twice a day, depending on how sensitive your skin is.

Lymecycline is an antibiotic that kills the bacteria responsible for acne. Benzoyl Peroxide gel is also antibacterial, killing acne-causing bacteria. Benzoyl Peroxide gel added to this breaks down keratin, a protein that forms part of the skin structure, and thus breaks down blackheads and whiteheads while also unblocking clogged pores.

This combination treatment is most likely to be effective for people who have papules (small red bumps with white tips), pustules (small red bumps with white tips), nodules/cysts, or a combination of all three types of acne lesions.

It is possible that it will take up to 6 weeks before you see any improvement in your acne.

Lymecycline can occasionally cause side effects such as nausea, diarrhoea, headaches, and stomach pain.

Because Benzoyl Peroxide gel can make the skin more sensitive to sunlight, it is critical to wear sunscreen. The treatment may also cause skin peeling, redness, and a mild burning sensation in the affected area. Fabric, towels, and hair will all be bleached by Benzoyl Peroxide gel.
