Finacea Gel (Azelaic Acid)

Twice a day, apply 2.5cm (0.5g) of the gel to your face (once in the morning and once in the evening). Before applying the gel, thoroughly cleanse the skin with a mild cleanser and immediately wash your hands.

Azelaic acid (Finacea) is a naturally occurring acid that is effective in treating a variety of skin conditions, including rosacea. It works by reducing the production of keratin, which can block pores and contribute to inflammation. In addition, azelaic acid has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, which can help to reduce the redness and irritation associated with rosacea. Azelaic acid is useful in skincare due to its ability to promote exfoliation, reduce inflammation, and inhibit the growth of acne-causing bacteria.

Although azelaic acid gel is gentler on the skin than other acne treatments, some people may still experience side effects. The most common side effects are itching, burning, and pain at the application site, though some people may also experience a rash, tingling, dry skin, and numbness in the affected area. A more severe skin reaction may occur in a very small number of people.
